[Latest Car News on Car Session] The 2011 Subaru Impreza WRX STI A-Line will be powered by a 2.5-litre 4-cylinder boxer engine featuring a turbocharger and an intercooler, with an output rated at 300 horses and 350 Nm of torque which will spin the wheels via a 5-speed automatic transmission which Subaru calls the SPORTSHIFT.

[Autoblog] "Learning a new car can be a challenge," Isachsen said, "but having seen the result of the Subaru team's preparations and practiced in my STI, I am very much looking forward to driving in the X Games SuperRally. Though the ERC (European Rally Championship) is somewhat different from SuperRally, I think my experience will place me in a competitive position for this event."

Despite the much roomier interior, curb weight is only up about 50 pounds (comparing similarly equipped cars), so the power bump should more than compensate.

First Drive: 2011 Subaru Impreza WRX STI - Return of the Wing ...
[Autoblog] You know something is up when the Subaru Service Manager and the mechanics always remind you to keep a very close eye out on your oil levels as when the ringlands go then your facing much worse engine damage from oil starvation. I love my car but when Subaru advertises the STI as an all out performance machine but you have to drive like a granny and check your oil every fill up just to make sure your warranty claimed is not denied when your ringlands blow, BLOWS.

[KickingTires] If you fold the Subaru seats flat, it feels like the dogs have a tendency to slide, and there is no way to separate them from whatever items you are transporting. If you put them in the cargo area they feel kind of lost back there, and I like to see them while I drive.
