[Autoblog] The Dodge Magnum nameplate has been used on a variety of vehicles throughout history - not just on the late hatchback/wagon/hearse. The general public barely noticed the latest Magnum, and the car-erudite know it as many different cars.

[drive blog] drive blog: Is the hybrid Camry just a photo opportunity?: Batteries - TMCA have been using the NiMH batteries successfully, with no issue, no problems, no wear and tear issues or complaints, no "memory" problems, and at a relatively decent price - (right now, to replace a Hybrid battery its $3,100 fitted from a dealer - yes, expensive compared to a "normal" battery - but your "normal" battery does not propel a 1.5t vehicle does it? and being that general suburban and city operation, the petrol engine is designed to be off 48% of the time - it means less wear and tear on the 1.5L, (old prius) 1.8L (new prius) and 2.4L (camry) petrol engines - these ALREADY are very toned back engines and you would be hard pressed to find ANY ongoing issues with these engines (yaris, corolla, normal camry) - so the only REAL "perishable" if you want to call it - is the Hybrid High Voltage battery - and with an expected life of 10-15 years - and warrantied for 8 years - it is a non-event also (only 3 batteries replaced in 8 years in australia - all in cabvs, and all over 380k on the clock...)

[Pajamas Media] Pajamas Media » Did America Bring Down the British Empire?: What we are encouraged to forget in this age when everyone wants to accuse empires of exploitation and crime (of which there was some, to be sure) is that the European empires were a great expense, and not wealth generators when all accounts are considered, a cost that was born, perhaps, as a way of mediating tensions caused by industrialization at home (you could let the industrial workers imagine themselves as part of a superior identity, and you could export troublesome aristocrats and warriors who didn’t have a place in a commercial civilization). Absent that consideration, it was an expense that would not have been born if global trade could have been organized without it.

[The Libertarian Alliance: BLOG] Sean Gabb on Holocaust Denial « The Libertarian Alliance: BLOG: They base this claim on Arthur James Balfour’s famous declaration which provides that an “Arab national home shall be created in Palestine provided that nothing shall be done which may prejudice the civil and religious rights (say nothing about the political and economic rights) of the existing indigeneous non-Arab population (a circumlocution meaning the soon to be dispossessed Jews)”. The Arab mandate is set up over the objections of the Jews while Chaim Abdullah in England is announcing that “Palestine is to become as Arab as England is English”.
