[mainerides.com] Between Floyd getting sick and Eric being a giant wuss, we managed to skip the Autocross last weekend. Basically the 45-degree, rainy weather didn’t seem like it would be the most fun place to be. So we bailed. The “good” tires are on the car now, though the O2 sensor is still sitting in the ashtray.

[Metamanda.com] metamanda>>weblog: February 2004 Archives: iButtons are neat. Tiny little buttons that you can use as id tags, memory, temperature sensors. They're nicely packaged, and it's probably easier to build certain applications on top of these quickly than it would be with RFID tags.

[Mark.michaelis.net] Mark Michaelis' Weblog - Personal: "Six key factors have led to children watching less Saturday morning cartoons: more recreational sports, the introduction of cable and satellite TV, the Internet and video games, a poorer quality of animation, and a greater emphasis on family time. These factors are rather self-explanatory with the exception of the latter: the divorce rate of Americans now stands at 49 percent, and time on the weekends has become more precious for children as many commute between parents’ houses. For parents who only have limited access to their children due to either divorce or career advancement, plopping them down in front of the television for five hours on a Saturday morning is no longer a viable option. Among most parents, divorced or not, there is a new emphasis on "quality" time.

[Masters45.blogspot.com] Too Old to Race Bicycles?: I can’t say how fast we went in this race. My stupid computer failed during my brief warm-up before the race when the fork sensor clipped one of my spokes and flew off my fork - so I had to ride this race with no electronics. (I later figured out that I averaged 19.6 mph over the course of the race.) Like most masters race groups this one was no exception; we called out sharp turns, whenever we hit the brakes we yelled out slowing, slowing”¦I’m sure all divisions do this but the Masters group is very good about this as they usually have a lot of experience in racing, if not lately, years before. We move over to the left side of the road as we went through the “feed station.” The feed station in this race was a spot on the course where volunteers were providing water bottles.

[Upforanything.net] Up For Poker Blog: Las Vegas Archives: The last card comes off the J of spades, the BB check-raises and the player to my left flat-calls with the A of spades while the BB shows 25 with the 2 of spades!! I nearly puked when I realized how terrible my fold on the turn was – I hadn't been playing for long enough to realize how truly terrible the two players were. I mean the player to my left flat-called with the nuts, after being check-raised by the lowest possible flush! I was relieved that the last card came off a spade, because if I had seen a showdown where ace-high got beat by two 5's I would have been on pure aggression tilt for the rest of the day.
