Funky Cars > Open Thread: Fed Driving Rates Much Lower | The Big Picture
[The Big Picture] The Fed buying treasuries just hits me as being a big shell game- creation of money obviously- the dollar stands to lose and gold stands to gain. I got my ass handed to me in my trades after the Feds announcement- but I think after the euphoria has passed common sense will prevail and you will see the S&P500 go lower.

[411mania.com RSS Feed] 411mania.com: Wrestling - WrestleMania XII Review: I remember being shocked at how good it was, at a time when Undertaker was starting to expand his repertoire beyond the cartoon moves and Nash was in the peak of his career. Watching him in early 1996 is awesome (check out his post match interview at the Rumble) and its such a shame they lost him when they did.
[Belmont Club] Belmont Club » The Big Time: While an additional $1.15 trillion expansion of the Feds balance sheet is large as a stand-alone event, it really is just a drop in the bucket when one considers that there is still almost $8 trillion of combined household and business sector credit that must be unwound in order to mean-revert the private sector-to-GDP ratio (which is still close to a record-high). Once again, the government is cushioning the blow, but cannot prevent nature from taking its course, in our view.

[Brad Setser: Follow the Money] Brad Setser: Follow the Money » Blog Archive » “Concentrations of ...: So banning or heavily restricting derivative contracts is something you can consider in the United States, which is why New York is *NOT* a major center of derivatives trading, but to have an airtight system you have to go to England, and convince them to restructure their financial system to be like the US, which is not going to happen. You might convince Congress to reintroduce Glass-Steagall, but it’s pointless if you don’t get the Germans to do the same thing, and they just won’t, because Germany has never separated investment and commercial banking and they see no reason to start now.
[National Post - Health] Researchers warn of brain tumour link to teen cellphone use: "What stands out is the consistency of the association of exposure and disease. The evidence, as I see it, is sufficiently strong that there needs to be public warnings, there needs to be establishments of exposure guidelines and that the present guidelines -- in Canada, the United States or anyone else -- are not protective of human health.
[Hot Air TV] Hot Air » Blog Archive » California legislature doing what it ...: California has enormous fiscal problems precisely because of this kind of legislative overreach over the past few decades. Government pulls more and more capital out of the pockets of its residents, which makes it more and more difficult to keep the economy in motion. Instead of lowering taxes in a recession and living within its means, the state of California wants to take even more money out of Californians’ pockets to fund more and more pet projects. They’re trying to divide the electorate by issuing punitive taxes on people who won’t get as much sympathy, such as smokers, motorcyclists, and millionaires, as a means of confusing people long enough to make a clean getaway with their money.

I’ve noticed that those bags keep their cables neat and tidy, whereas mine are always getting caught around something in the trunk or the bottom of my bed box. Bucket Boss’s Jumper and Extension Cord Bag has my name on it.
