[Man, you've got some f'ed up friends. Limber, tho.] Yesterday afternoon, I met up with about 40 or 50 fellow Subaru enthusiasts in my area and caravanned up to Park City for a drive. Despite 95% of us driving quite conservatively, we still ran into some severe problems with the law. About half of our group got separated because the police set up a road block to better control us.

[Maui Beach Bums] Mountain Maui Mom Day 3: Our original intent was to drive around the West Maui Mountains today but while Mike was filling the Subaru with gas he decided on a change of plans due to logistic concerns. We instead headed part way up Haleakala, 6000 feet, to Polipoli State Park. On the trip up we experienced a temperature drop from 82 degrees in north Kihei to 54 degree up in Polipoli. Despite the cooler temperature we drove the last 10 miles with the windows open. The air was so clean and the aroma from the Eucalyptus trees lining the roads was out of this world. We went for a two and a half mile hike through the redwood forest and for some odd reason made better time on the up hill return than on the down hill beginning leg of our trek. The sites we enjoyed on our little adventure were at times other worldly and were always remarkable in their beauty. Needless to say, although it will be said, we all thoroughly enjoyed the hike and all the great sites to and from the park. They were all breath taking (thankfully we did get our breath back).

[Strangulating Obscurity] cul du sac: I'm beginning to think the people out here aren't too swift (offended Valley residents may now insert hackneyed "Well, it's good that you've finally started to think" comeback). But the TV just bragged that a Subaru Outback gets better milage than a Ford Explorer. Seems to me both that that would go without saying, as well as that the gas milage of a Ford Explorer is pretty much piss poor to begin with. It's like comparing your English skills to a retarded 8-year old frenchmen to make yourself appear more eloquent.

neon rebel aka neon rebel (and the blog too): First Drives of the Day - 2006 Bentley Continental Flying Spur at edmunds.com and at Autocar. Despite relative glowing reviews, I will still take a Maserati Quattroporte over this bulky land-yacht any day of the week, especially ones with the upcoming Ferrari-sourced V12 engine. Still, it's not a bad interior. One can get very comfy in there.

2006 Subaru B9 Tribeca: Press kit gallery - Autoblog - www ...: The Tribeca, an SUV (ugh), is built on the Outback, a Legacy saddled with useless (for on-road driving) added ride height and weight (bad for perfomance and handling - safety too), so obviously it can be done. With that being said, I need somebody to explain to me how it comes to pass that Subaru made an SUV instead of a premium three-row wagon? Isn't it obvious that unless one drives off-road (and so few do), an SUV is just a bad choice when considering matters of performance, safety, handling, braking, insrance, maintenance, ad infinitum? Plus, I can hardly believe that anyone would say they feel the Tribeca looks better than a Legacy GT wagon.
Scott McGeriks Weblog » Subaru Outback Head Gasket Leak: 1999 Subaru Legacy Outback 135k K fully dealer maintained - 4 weeks ago heater suddenly stopped working on the Blewett Pass in WA. (no pun intended)- followed 3 min later by rising temp - no steam out the exhaust - cold outside, snowing heavily, 3 passengers, thoroughly ticked checked coolant - some in overflow - couldn’t see level in rad but coolant had spilled over from rad cap - couldn’t spot any active leak - thought it was rad cap failure - so coasted in neutral down to a general store - filled up rad and put in stop leak -limped home to Canada adding coolant every hour or so - engine never overheated - went next day to Subaru dealership in Kelowna and told him the story - he said immediately that I had a internal head gasket leak - big problem. I asked him how he was so sure without examining the car - he said from the story - I asked him if this was a common problem - answer was N0 ! So sign me up for the BHG club!
Ego Birchy: 03/01/2002 - 03/31/2002: But in the past two weeks, police have learned that Biggs lived for two or three days after he was hit, lying on a car hood in a southeast Fort Worth garage, his body trapped in the windshield. Despite Biggs' pleas, police said, the driver refused to help and left him to die. Afterward, the body was dumped in the park. Mike Heiskell, Mallard's attorney, called the woman's arrest on a murder warrant premature.
