[German Car Scene] Dakar: Lead Switches Between VW Drivers Posted on 13th January, 2007 by Warren M Filed in Volkswagen Volkswagen maintained its one-two lead, but a change at the top of the leader board saw Giniel de Villiers/Dirk von Zitzewitz take the lead, having clinched their second stage victory on the way from Zouérat to Atâr in Mauritania. De Villiers, finished the 542km stage which was shortened because of safety concerns after a sand storm, almost five minutes ahead of previous race leader Carlos Sainz of Spain on Friday.
