[Joesherlock.com] The View Through The Windshield - A Car Blog: While Chapter 11 is a real possibility for either Ford or General Motors - given their financial weakness, near-junk bond ratings, not-so-wonderful future product plans (no mainstream-model home runs in sight) and continuing pressure from Asian competitors (particularly Toyota and Hyundai), I don't think such a bankruptcy would solve Ford's or GM's problems. I'm not a lawyer - much less an expert in bankruptcy law - but here are some observations:
