Piero Ferrari and two others to invest in Pininfarina

[Leftlane - news, reviews, and info for the auto-industry] Pininfarina, the Italian design and engineering firm, has announced that Piero Ferrari ”” the son of Ferrari founder Enzo Ferrari ”” along with two other Italian investors will be buying a stake in the company.

[Autoblog] Piero Ferrari, Enzo's son, is expected to join three other "prominent figures of the Italian automotive industry" that will take a stake in Pininfarina. The news comes shortly after Tata announced plans to throw some money into the Italian design house, which includes a 100 million euro stake in the firm.

Toyota Prius Hybrid car gives 250 mpg

Dodge Challenger could start at $23995

[Autoblog] A "top company executive" has supposedly leaked pricing of the base Dodge Challenger to the Freep and the 250 hp, V6-equipped model could set pony car fanatics back $23,995. Although official pricing hasn't been disclosed for the full Challenger range, the SRT8 model is already carrying a $37,320 price tag, so pricing the base model somewhere south of $25,000 was expected.

Students race for fuel efficiency

[Latest Happening News] The race, held at the California Speedway in Fontana, Calif., judges cars on fuel efficiency rather than speed while completing a 17.7 kilometre course at an average speed of 24 kilometres per hour. The UVic car, dubbed H2Drive, is the culmination of over a year of work and is expected to have a fuel efficiency 10 times better than the most efficient conventional cars.
