Another Ferrari Enzo meets an untimely end

[Auto Insider News] While not as spectacular as Stefan Eriksson’s crash of his Enzo that led to EnzoGate, it is still a $1 million+ car that appears to be totaled. Both of these crashes speak volumes on the ability this car’s ability to take a beating and still keep its passengers safe.

More on the Mercedes Benz CL Coupé

[Chris Abraham - Because the Medium is the Message - Leading expert on corporate blogging, PR blogging, SEO, the blogosphere, on] Other design features which were already acclaimed back then have also been reinterpreted for the CL-Class, keeping alive the large coupé tradition of the Mercedes-Benz brand: the fully retractable side windows, for instance, whose continuous aperture is not interrupted by a B-pillar, and the large, curving panoramic rear window. In the early days this was a typical styling feature of the Mercedes Coupés, and in its stylistically evolved form for the new CL-Class it is just as appealing as in the 220 SE Coupé of 1961.

Cayman S Beats M Coupe

[Jim Meyer's dfwCARFINDER.com Blog] Car and Driver Magazine just published a comparison article between the Porsche Cayman S and BMW M Coupe (Z4 based). The Cayman S came out on top, mostly due to a superior chassis on the Cayman.

One last hurrah - Audi R8 races for the final time

[Autoblog] The Audi R8 has an incredible 62 wins in 79 races to date, which includes five 24 Hours of Le Mans victories. The car racing at Lime Rock Park will be wearing a special design that includes the names of all 18 drivers who won a race with the R8 and the names of the 23 tracks worldwide on which an R8 won.

Anti-American car billboard?

[AdJab] That's actually pretty funny, but of course, a lot of people are pointing out that the car is made by DaimlerChrysler, and that "Chrysler" is very much American. Also, there's the fact that it's on a Clear Channel billboard, though that has more to do with the actual physical billboard itself than the ad that's on it, so whatever.

Ferrari: Knit edition

[This & That, Ceci et Cela] The red bodywork consists of 250 squares of garter stitch made by Lauren and 20 family members and friends. The windows are V-shaped stocking stitch, while the details are crochet and the badge is embroidered. It’s all supported by a steel frame which she welded herself. Her 12 Miles of Yarn will exhibit at Studio 95.

[Auto Insider News] Unfortunatly, for Car and Driver’s Aaron Robinson, he had his day during the magazine’s preivew test of the Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano. While setting up a cornering shot, Robinson found out how beneficial traction-control can be on a 611 horsepower supercar.

BOSS crams USB, SD and Bluetooth into a car stereo

[Engadget] We've seen all of these fancy add-ons like USB, SD and Bluetooth show up in all sorts of separate car stereos, but BOSS is the first we've seen to get up the chutzpah to throw them all into one stereo for the ultimate in nerdy in-dash entertainment. Thanks to our complete inability to read Korean, we're not really sure what these stereos, the 638B and P255B, do beyond the obvious, but the pretty pictures tell us that you can plug your USB phone in for charging and possibly other functionality, and that there is iPod functionality of some sort.

2007 Saturn Sky

[Gay Wheels- Gay-Friendly Automotive Resource - Gay Friendly Cars, Finance, Insurance, & Reviews] Our bright and we mean BRIGHT, yellow Sky spent time scooting around Atlanta running errands, making the daily trek to the gym and even managed to handle a few days worth of groceries in the trunk. In just about every occasion, it brought huge smiles to our faces, made every on ramp a blast and catered to our desire to be the center of attention (ok, that was just one of us).

Video: Prodrive P2 handles so well, even Clarkson loses his lunch

[Autoblog] While the latter trinket doesn't sound terribly different from a bog-standard STi's piece, the Subaru's is essentially a mechanical system, while the P2's is supervised and informed by all manner of sensors, including yaw, throttle position, and so on. The end result is a coupe that can be neatly tailored for the demands of the road and the driver-- safe as houses understeer, or tail-out antics.

Chrysler to produce more flex-fuel vehicles

[Auto Insider News] The Chrysler Group is planning to produced even more flexible-fuel vehicles capable of burning gasoline and E85, according to COO Eric Ridenour. Chrysler has said it will build 250,000 vehicles in the 2007 model year and about 500,000 in 2008.
